Sebastián Marset, the Uruguayan drug trafficker dubbed the ‘modern Pablo Escobar,’ was captured in Bolivia on March 13 and is now under U.S. custody, accused of laundering millions through crypto networks. Bolivia’s anti-drug czar, Ernesto Justiniano, told local media that investigators were tracking “money laundering, specifically, companies that have received funds via cryptocurrencies,” alongside probes into chemical diversion linked to drug production.
